COMPETITION
DIVISIONS
AGE GROUPS
-
All ages for Workshop & Competition are set as of January 1, 2026. The average age is taken and the decimal point will be dropped.
-
A routine may only complete one age group down from the oldest dancer. For example, a routine with an average age of 11 by a 16 year old dancer will compete in the Teen category.
-
Full names, ages, and DOB's of all dancers within a routine must appear on your registration.
-
Group routines are permitted to move up 1 age group by studio discretion.
-
In the unlikely case age verification is needed, dancer's birth certificates must be made available to participate in the competition.
CATEGORIES & RATES
-
Each routine is allowed a 5 second grace period beyond the time limit. Routines that exceed this grace period may be subject to automatic deductions.
-
If needed, extended time may be purchased at $5/p for each 30 seconds. This must be purchased through your registration portal prior to the event.
PERFORMANCE DIVISIONS
If judges determine a routine has been placed in the wrong style, they may elect to move it to the appropriate style. Notice will be given.
DEPOSITS
To ensure a smooth planning process and maintain the quality of our events, you will be asked to provide the number of routines you are planning to compete. For each routine, we have implemented a $20 deposit per routine. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable and helps us manage capacity, as many of our events are expected to sell out before the registration deadline.
To offer flexibility while still allowing for accurate planning...
-
Studios may adjust their number of routines within a 20% cushion of the original amount provided. Any deposits within this 20% cushion can be applied to your total event balance.
-
Any deposits more than 20% of their initial routine count will be forfeited and non-credited or refunded.
-
Deposits may only be applied to the remaining balance of that same event.
-
Any routines removed after the 30 day deadline are not eligible for deposits to be applied to their total balance.
This deposit system supports our ability to provide a high-quality, professional event, and helps prevent last minute changes that can disrupt the schedule and studio experience.

SOLO REGULATIONS
-
A dancer may only compete ONE solo per event.
-
Soloists do not need to be registered in a group routine.
-
Independent dancers are not eligible to compete. Dancers must be taking weekly classes w/ their studio. We want to prioritize the importance of consistent studio training!
-
In the rare event a dancer is able to compete two solos, only the higher scoring solo is eligible for overall placements.
Savage IDX makes every effort to allow as many competition entries as possible.
Please email registration@savageidxtour.com with any specific concerns or requests.
SCHEDULING
-
Friday competition may start as early as 8:00 AM. Savage IDX will always start with solos and/or duo/trios.
-
If group competition is scheduled for Friday, studios will be notified at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
-
If a solo or duo/trio is scheduled to perform prior to 3:30PM on Friday, and a dancer elects not to perform, a full refund will be given for that routine. Notice must be given, in writing by the studio, prior to the start of competition to be eligible.
-
Please see our "Sample Schedule" page for detailed information.
-
Once the final schedule is sent out, the performance order is final. With limited exceptions, routines will perform in their scheduled order. Delaying or holding a routine may result in a deduction or disqualification.
