Alex began his dance training at age seven, studying tap, jazz, and ballet at the Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver. At the age of 17, he made history as the first Canadian to win the prestigious Prix de Lausanne competition in Switzerland. He subsequently joined the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and later the Miami City Ballet, where he was promoted to principal soloist.
Alex gained national recognition as a finalist on Season 7 of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, though an Achilles tendon injury cut his run short. Despite this setback, he returned to the show as an All-Star and has since appeared in multiple seasons. His performances on the show earned Emmy Awards for choreography. Beyond television, Alex has showcased his talents on Broadway, originating the role of "Sniper" in Disney's Newsies, which won two Tony Awards. He also performed in The King and I and appeared in Peter Pan Live!, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and the epic movie hit, The Greatest Showman!
Alex has also gained widespread recognition for his engaging dance content, lifestyle posts, and collaborations with major brands. Known for his high-energy performances and lighthearted approach, Alex has become a beloved figure in the dance and influencer communities.
